(HOUSTON, TX) - Rookie JD Martinez hit his first major league home run and later had the go-ahead hit as the Houston Astros got past the Cincinnati Reds 5-4.

Martinez hit a two-run shot off Cincinnati starter Dontrelle Willis in the first inning to give the Astros the early lead.

Todd Frazier hit a solo homer off Houston's Jordan Lyles in the fifth, Brandon Phillips had a game-tying RBI single in the sixth and Willis gave Cincinnati the lead with a solo blast off Lyles in the seventh.

Martinez hit a two-run double off Reds reliever Nick Masset in the seventh with Humberto Quintero adding some insurance with a solo homer in the eighth.

The Reds got an RBI single from rookie Yonder Alonzo in the ninth to come up a run short.

With the loss, Cincinnati falls seven and-a-half games behind first-place Milwaukee in the Central.
