Red Sox Use Late Rally To Push Past White Sox

Last updated on Monday, August 1, 2011

(CHICAGO, IL) - The Boston Red Sox scored late overwhelm the Chicago White Sox, 5-3.

Chicago was clinging to a 3-2 lead in the seventh inning, when Dustin Pedroia scored two runs with a go-ahead single to center field.

Another strong outing from Mark Buehrle was wasted in the collapse.

Buehrle finished six innings and held the red hot Boston bats to a couple of runs.

The White Sox are two games under five-hundred, but are somehow still in contention in the AL Central.

They trail Detroit for first place by four games.
