(CHICAGO, IL) Brian McCann homered twice to lead the Atlanta Braves past the Chicago Cubs 8-3.

McCann gave the Braves a 3-0 lead in the first with a three-run blast off Cubs starter Matt Garza.

Chicago got one run back in the first and two in the second, one courtesy of a solo shot from Marlon Byrd, to tie it.

Atlanta took the lead for good in the third on a bases-loaded walk to Dan Uggla and an RBI single by Freddie Freeman.

McCann would add a solo homer off John Grabow in the seventh to cap his four RBI day.

Braves starter Brandon Beachy went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits as the Kokomo native improves to 7-2.

Garza takes the loss to drop to 6-10.
