Colts Make More Roster Moves As Training Camp Continues

Last updated on Wednesday, August 10, 2011

(ANDERSON, IN) - Training camp continues in Anderson for the Indianapolis Colts as they prepare for Saturday night’s preseason opener in St. Louis against the Rams.

The Colts practiced twice on Tuesday and will practice in shorts this morning before holding their second night practice of camp this evening in full pads.

Head coach Jim Caldwell says he is looking for improvement out of his young players in practice this week and Saturday night against the Rams.

Caldwell also gave a brief update on quarterback Peyton Manning's progress from offseason neck surgery.

Caldwell says the four-time league MVP is working hard on his rehabilitation but is not sure if manning will see any action before training camp ends on August 18th.

The Colts made some roster moves on Tuesday, placing tight end Rob Myers, receiver Kole Heckendorf and offensive tackle James Williams on the waived / injured list.

They re-signed free agent linebacker Vuna Tuihalamaka, who was with the Colts in training camp last year before being cut prior to the start of the 2010 season.

The Colts also claimed tight end Michael Matthews off waivers from Buffalo.

Matthews has spent time with three NFL teams over three seasons as well as playing in the UFL.
