Treanor's Two Run Single Pushes Royals Past White Sox

Last updated on Wednesday, July 6, 2011

(CHICAGO, IL) - Matt Treanor hit a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the sixth as the Kansas City Royals got past the Chicago White Sox 5-3.

KC jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second when Mike Moustakis hit a sacrifice fly and Alcides Escobar hit a two-run triple.

Paul Konerko got one run back for the Sox in the second with his 22nd home run of the season.

Chicago tied the game in the third on RBI singles from Konerko and Carlos Quentin.

That set up Treanor's go-ahead hit off White Sox Starter Jake Peavy in the sixth.

Royals starter Felipe Paulino picks up the win to move to 1-6 while Peavy gets the loss to drop to 4-2.
