Thompson's Strong Outing Leads Bats Past Tribe

(LOUISVILLE, KY) - Daryl Thompson threw seven shutout innings as the Louisville Bats picked up their fourth-straight win with a 5-2 victory over the Indianapolis Indians. T

he game was scoreless until the seventh when Chris Valaika drove Thompson home with an RBI single and Yonder Alonso followed with a two-run homer to give the bats a 3-0 lead.

John Bowker drove home the Tribe's first run with an eighth-inning single but Louisville responded by scoring two more runs in the bottom of the eighth.

Anthony Norman capped the scoring with an RBI single in the ninth.

Thompson allowed four hits and improves to 2-0.

Steven Jackson takes the loss in relief to fall to 1-1.

The two-game series wraps up tonight in Louisville.
