(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Izod IndyCar series will return to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California for a night race in 2012.
The two-mile oval returns to the schedule for the first time since 2005.
The addition of Auto Club Speedway gives the IndyCar Series another oval for next year.
The series has already lost one oval on this season's schedule with the September event at Motegi, Japan being moved from that facilities' earthquake-damaged oval to the road course.
The Motegi race had already been dropped from the 2012 schedule.
The Milwaukee event is also not expected to return to the 2012 schedule due to poor attendance.
