Last updated on Friday, July 1, 2011

(CHICAGO, IL) - Pinch hitter Geovany Soto hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to give the Chicago Cubs a 5-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

The Giants led 1-0 heading to the bottom of the ninth thanks to seven innings of four-hit pitching from starter Matt Cain and a perfect inning of relief from Sergio Romo. Brian Wilson came on to close the game, but allowed a one-out solo homer to Aramis Ramirez.

In the 13th, Pablo Sandoval homered off John Grabow to give San Francisco a 2-1 lead. Ramon Ramirez got two quick outs in the bottom of the 13th, but Jeff Baker doubled and scored on a single by Darwin Barney.

Ramirez intentionally walked Starlin Castro before surrendering Soto's game winner.
