Cubs Over Come Big Deficit With Six Run Sixth Inning

(WASHINGTON, DC) - The Chicago Cubs overcame an 8-0 deficit and beat the Washington Nationals 10-9 to avoid a four-game series sweep.

Danny Espinosa and Wilson Ramos had two-run hits for the Nats as they scored seven times in the third inning.

Rick Ankiel's RBI double made it 8-0 Washington after four.

The Cubs scored six times in the sixth inning with Darwin Barney hitting a two-run double and Blake Dewitt capping the inning with a three-run homer.

Carlos Pena tied the game with a two-run shot in the seventh.

The teams exchanged runs in the eighth and barney drove home the game-winner with a ninth-inning RBI double off Washington's Henry Rodriguez.
