Last updated on Monday, July 25, 2011

(CHICAGO, IL) - The Chicago Cubs also used late inning heroics to hold off the Houston Astros in ten innings, 5-4.

The Cubs had to rally after the bullpen was unable to protect another lead, consistent with Chicago's second half of the season.

In the top of the eighth, Carlos Lee hit a two run blast off Notre Dame's Jeff Samardjiza to give Houston a one run lead.

Alfonso Soriano drove in a run during the Cubs half of the eighth to tie it up at 4-4.

Jeff Baker had the game winning hit in the tenth.

Carlos Marmol and John Grabow each pitched a scoreless inning to help the cubs win their third straight game for the first time all season.
