Red Maintain Series Edge Over Rays

(ST. PETERSBURG, FL) - Mike Leake and two relievers combined on a six-hit shutout as the Cincinnati Reds blanked the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0.

Brandon Phillips went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in while former Ray Jonny Gomes added a solo home run off Tampa Bay starter Jeremy Hellickson.

Leake allowed four hits over six innings with Sam Lecure allowing one hit in his two innings of work and Nick Masset allowing a hit in the ninth. Leake improves to 7-and-4 while Hellickson drops to 7-and-7.

The Reds are the only team the Rays have never beaten with Cincinnati holding a 7-0 edge in the all-time series.
