Pacers Trade Draft Pick For Indianapolis Native George Hill

Last updated on Friday, June 24, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers traded for Indianapolis native George Hill during last night’s NBA Draft.

The Pacers sent the rights to number-15 overall pick Kawhi Leonard of San Diego State, 42nd pick Davis Bertans of Latvia and Erazem Lorbek - Indiana's second-round pick in 2005, to the San Antonio Spurs to acquire Hill.

Hill averaged ten points per game in three seasons with the Spurs.

He left IUPUI following his junior season as the fourth-leading scorer in school history.

Hill is the only IUPUI player ever to be selected in the NBA draft when he was taken by the Spurs with the 26th-overall pick in 2008.
