(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The IHSAA Girls Basketball State Finals are moving to Terre Haute for 2012.
IHSAA Commissioner Bobby Cox announced a one-year deal for the finals to be held at the Hulman Center on Saturday, March 3rd.
Terre Haute won out over Evansville and Fort Wayne.
The Girls Basketball Finals have been played at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne the past two years.
Before that, Indianapolis had hosted the event since its inception in 1976.
No Indianapolis sites bid for the 2012 state finals, but with the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament alternating between Indianapolis and Chicago beginning next year, Conseco Fieldhouse could be available to host the girls basketball finals in 2013.
