(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to one year of probation.
Floyd was also fined 200 dollars, his license has been suspended for 90 days and once he can drive again, a device will be installed on his car that will not allow the vehicle to start if his blood-alcohol level is too high.
Floyd was arrested on March 20th after running a stop sign near campus. Prosecutors say a breath test taken at the seen showed Floyd had a blood-alcohol level of .19, more than double Indiana's legal limit.
Fighting Irish Head Coach Brian Kelly suspended Floyd following the incident and has set up conditions for the senior receiver's reinstatement. Floyd has been allowed to participate in voluntary workouts with the team this offseason. He opted not to enter the NFL draft and return for his senior season.
Floyd holds the Notre Dame record for touchdown catches, is second in total receptions and third in receiving yards for his career.
