Last updated on Wednesday, June 15, 2011

(LOS ANGELES, CA) - Johnny Cueto threw seven strong innings and Joey Votto drove in the go-ahead run as the Cincinnati Reds got past the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2.

Cueto allowed an unearned run on five hits to improve to 4-2.

The Dodgers got on the scoreboard first when Dee Gordon scored on a Brandon Phillips throwing error in the first inning.

Scott Rolen tied the game with an RBI double in the fourth and the score remained 1-1 until the eighth when Votto's single drove home Miguel Cairo.

Drew Stubbs gave the reds some needed insurance with an RBI single in the ninth as Cincinnati closer Francisco Cordero gave up a run in the ninth but managed to pick up his 14th save.

The Reds move two and a half games behind first place St. Louis and Milwaukee in the NL Central.
