White Sox Take Advantage Of Two Errors in Win Over Blue Jays

Last updated on Friday, May 27, 2011

(TORONTO, ON) - Juan Pierre’s infield single in the top of the ninth inning drove home the go-ahead run as the Chicago White Sox edged the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1.

Two Toronto errors in the ninth led to a pair of unearned runs.

Alex Rios reached on an error to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a wild pitch by Toronto reliever Marc Rzepcynski.

Gordon Beckham drew a walk and stole second. Pierre grounded a ball to first baseman Juan Rivera, whose flip to Rzepcynski got away allowing both Rios and Beckham to score.

Pierre had given the Sox an early lead with an RBI single in the fifth, but the Jays tied the game in the sixth on Yunel Escobar's fifth home run of the season.
