Last updated on Wednesday, May 18, 2011

(CINCINNATI, OH) - The Cincinnati Reds took advantage of four Chicago errors, scoring seven unearned runs to beat the Cubs 7-5.

The Cubs took a 3-0 lead in the first when Carlos Pena hit a three-run home run off Reds starter Edinson Volquez.

The Reds tied it in the fourth when Pena's error on a Volquez grounder allowed three runs to score. Chicago scored once in the seventh and once in the eighth to take a 5-3 lead.

The Reds tied the game in the bottom of the eighth when Ryan Hanigan's bunt was fielded by Cubs reliever Kerry Wood.

Wood tried to get Scott Rolen at third, but threw the ball past third baseman Aramis Ramirez allowing two runs to score with Hanigan advancing to third.

Chris Heisey followed with a sacrifice fly to score Hanigan with the lead run.

Joey Votto would add an RBI double as the Reds won their fifth game in a row.
