Rain And Cool Temperatures Lead To Slow Day At IMS

Last updated on Wednesday, May 18, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Poor weather led to a very slow day Tuesday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Drizzle and temperatures in the 50's led to just a pair of Andretti Autosport drivers taking to the oval before IndyCar called it a day two hours before the scheduled end of practice.

Marco Andretti and Mike Conway combined to turn just 13 laps with both driving Conway's car.

Andretti's top lap was 220.656 miles an hour while Conway's best was 219.910.

Weather has been the story at the speedway as Monday has been the only day in which cars have been on the track for the entire six hours of scheduled practice time.
