Last updated on Thursday, May 26, 2011

(UNDATED) - The New York Mets snapped a three-game losing streak, beating the Chicago Cubs 7-4 in a game halted by rain with two out in the top of the seventh.

Mets starter Dillon Gee gave up two-run doubles to Reed Johnson and Alfonso Soriano in the first inning, but settled down to blank Chicago the rest of the way to improve to 4-and-1.

New York scored five times in the second inning with Carlos Beltran hitting a two-run double and Daniel Murphy driving in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded walk.

Cubs starter Casey Coleman lasted just an inning and a third, allowing six earned runs on seven hits to fall to 2-and-4.
