(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - Purdue has hired Butler Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Micah Shrewsberry to serve in the same capacity on Matt Painter's staff.

Shrewsberry, an Indianapolis native, came to Butler as Coordinator of Basketball Operations in 2007 and was promoted to Assistant Coach in 2008, serving on Brad Stevens' staff as the Bulldogs reached the National Championship Game in 2010 and 2011.

He fills one of two openings on the Purdue staff.

Paul Lusk left to become head coach at Missouri State on April First and Mike Jackson resigned effective at the end of April after pleading guilty to a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated last month.
