Pirates Use Sixth Inning Rally To Knock Off Cardinals

(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Neil Walker and Andrew McCutchen got the clutch hits in the top of the sixth inning as the Pittsburgh Pirates got past the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 at Busch Stadium.

St. Louis took a 1-0 lead when Lance Berkman scored on Allen Craig's double-play grounder.

Redbirds Starter Kyle Lohse took a shutout into the sixth, but Walker gave Pittsburgh the lead with a two-run double and McCutchen followed with a two-run homer.

The Cardinals got two runs back in the eighth, but Pirates closer Joel Hanrahan came in and struck out Yadier Molina with the tying run at second base.

Pittsburgh is off to a 3-1 start while St. Louis falls to 1-3.
