Cabrera's Squeeze Play Leads Indians Past Red Sox

Last updated on Friday, April 8, 2011

(CLEVELAND, OH) - Asdrubal Cabrera drove in the lone run with a suicide squeeze bunt in the eighth inning as the Cleveland Indians edged the Boston Red Sox 1-0.

The game was a pitching duel between Cleveland's Fausto Carmona and Boston's Jon Lester as each threw seven shutout innings and did not figure in the decision.

Adam Everett led off the bottom of the eighth with a walk off Red Sox reliever Daniel Bard, stole second and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Orlando Cabrera.

Asdrubal Cabrera followed with his bunt down the third base line that allowed Everett to score.

The Indians complete the three-game series sweep and have won four in a row.

Boston is off to an 0-6 start for the first time since 1945.
