Cabrera's Extra Inning Hit Gives Royals Fourth Straight Win

Last updated on Wednesday, April 6, 2011

(KANSAS CITY, MO) - Melky Cabrera’s RBI single in the bottom of the twelfth inning gave the Kansas City Royals a 7-6 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The Sox took a 4-0 lead in the first with Paul Konerko hitting a three-run home run.

Alex Gordon responded with a two-run shot in the bottom of the first and Cabrera tied the game with a two-run single in the second.

Chicago scored twice more in the sixth, but KC tied it on Billy Butler's two-run blast off Chris Sale in the eighth.

That was all of the scoring until the twelfth when Chris Getz led off with a single, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Cabrera's game-winner.

The Royals have won four games in a row with the winning run scoring in their final time at bat.
