UConn Slips Past Irish To Claim Fourth Straight Big East Women's Title

(HARTFORD, CT) - Number one Connecticut won its fourth Big East Women’s Basketball Tournament in a row, defeating eighth-ranked Notre Dame 73-64 in the championship game.

Freshman Stefanie Dolson led the Huskies with 24 points with tournament most outstanding player Maya Moore adding 22 as U-Conn improves to 32-1.

Natalie Novasel led the Fighting Irish with 17 points with Skylar Diggins adding 14 points and Natalie Achonwa scoring twelve points and grabbing ten rebounds as Notre Dame completes the regular season with a 26-7 mark.

Three of those losses came at the hands of Connecticut.

U-Conn claims an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament while the Irish will have to wait for their at-large bid.
