(WASHINGTON, DC) - Another deadline in labor talks between the National Football League and its Players Association hits this afternoon.
The Collective Bargaining Agreement is scheduled to expire at five o'clock Eastern Time.
The league and the players have already extended the deadline twice.
Should the CBA expire, the NFL faces its first work stoppage since 1987.
Both sides are reportedly far apart on key economic issues.
The sides are expected to meet today at the offices of federal Mediator George Cohen.
If an agreement or an extension of the deadline is not reached, the NFLPA is expected to decertify in order to take antitrust action against the league.
