Broncos Take Out Cardinals To Take First Place In MAC West

(KALAMAZOO, MI) - The Western Michigan Broncos took sole possession of first place in the MAC West with an 87-70 win over the Ball State Cardinals.

Mike Douglas led the Broncos with a career-high 25 points.

Flenard Whitfield finished with 14 points and Juwan Howard Jr. added 13 as Western Michigan won its third game in a row.

Malik Perry scored a team-high 13 for the Cardinals, who could not overcome Jarrod Jones' ten-point night on 4-for-13 shooting from the field.

Ball State falls to 17-12, 9-6 in the Mid-American Conference.

They are one game behind Western Michigan in the West as they close out the regular season Saturday at home against Northern Illinois.
