(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Butler Senior Forward Matt Howard has been named the Academic All-American of the Year in division-one men’s basketball.
The team is selected by college sports information directors of America.
Howard is a finance major with a 3.77 grade-point average and is a three-time Academic All-American.
Two other players with Indiana ties join Howard on the first team, North Carolina Center Tyler Zeller and Notre Dame forward Tim Abromaitis.
The Academic All-America team is filled out by Northern Colorado's Devon Beitzel and Kansas' Tyrell Reed.
