Irish Knock Off Friars Despite Brooks' 52 Points

(PROVIDENCE, RI) - Ben Hansbrough scored a career-high 32 points and Notre Dame needed every one of them as the ninth-ranked Fighting Irish edged Providence 94-93.

Marshon Brooks scored a Big East-record 52 points to keep the Friars in the game.

Brooks' 52 was the most points ever scored against Notre Dame.

Tim Abromaitis scored a season-high 28 points and Tyrone Nash added 13 as the Irish sent Providence to its fifth-straight loss.

Notre Dame improves to 22-5, 11-4 in the Big East as they return home to face Seton Hall on Saturday night.
