(LAS VEGAS, NV) - IndyCar announced Tuesday that the Izod IndyCar Series season will end at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 16th.
The Firestone Indy Lights champion will also be crowned in Las Vegas the day before and the event weekend will be known as the Izod IndyCar World Championships.
The IndyCar Series last raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2000.
The one and-a-half-mile oval was reconfigured in 2006.
The 17-race schedule begins on March 27th on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
