(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The teams and drivers of the Izod IndyCar Series are in Indianapolis this week for winter meetings.

CEO Randy Bernard held his state of the series address Tuesday, outlining some rule changes for the 2011 season.

One announcement was that the sanctioning body has officially been renamed "IndyCar".

Bernard said last year he was looking to change the previous "Indy Racing League" name for the sanctioning body because that name had negative connotations dealing with the open-wheel split of 1996 between the IRL and the CART series.
