Kentucky Uses Second Half Run To Hand Notre Dame First Loss

(LOUISVILLE, KY) - Notre Dame suffered its first loss of the season, falling to the 16th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats 72-58 in a Big East / SEC Invitational game at Freedom Hall in Louisville.

The game was tied at 40 at halftime, but the 23rd-ranked Irish went stone cold, scoring just four points over the first ten minutes of the second half as Kentucky went on a 13-4 run.

Terrence Jones led UK with 27 points and 17 rebounds with Brandon Knight scoring 20 points as the Wildcats improve to 6-2.

Ben Hansbrough scored 21 for Notre Dame with Carleton Scott adding ten as the Irish fall to 8-1.

Notre Dame is back home on Saturday when they host Gonzaga.
