Stubbs Bat, Bruce's Glove Push Reds Past Diamondbacks

Last updated on Thursday, September 16, 2010

(CINCINNATI, OH) - Drew Stubbs hit a two-run home run and Jay Bruce robbed Adam LaRoche of a possible game-tying two-run shot in the ninth as the Cincinnati Reds got past the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5.

Jonny Gomes had an RBI triple in the first and added a run-scoring single in the eighth as Cincinnati led 7-4 heading to the ninth.

Arizona got one run off Reds closer Francisco Cordero and had a runner on second base when Bruce reached over the wall in the right field corner to snag LaRoche's bid for a game-tying home run and end the game.
