Mathis Hits Game Winning Sac Fly In 16th Inning

Last updated on Thursday, September 9, 2010

(ANAHEIM, CA) - Jeff Mathis hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 16th inning to give the Los Angeles Angels a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Indians.

Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer in the fifth and Peter Bourjos added a solo shot in the sixth as the Angels took a 3-1 lead.

Andy Marte got one run back with a solo blast for Cleveland in the seventh and Jayson Nix tied the game with a pinch-hit, RBI single in the ninth.

That would be all of the scoring until the 16th when Torii Hunter led off with a double off Indians reliever Hector Ambriz, advanced to third on Alberto Callaspo's ground out and scored on Mathis' fly ball.
