Colvin Suffers Freak Injury As Cubs Sweep Marlins

Last updated on Monday, September 20, 2010

(MIAMI, FL) - The Chicago Cubs swept the series against the Florida Marlins with a 13-3 victory.

Welington Castillo knocked out his first major league home run and drove in three runs to help lead the Cubs to the win.

During one of those hits, a sliver from Castillo's bat flew off and punctured the chest of cubs' outfielder Tyler Colvin, who was standing at third base.

Colvin was taken to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
