Cardinals Take Early Lead, Hold Off Cubs Late

(CHICAGO, IL) - Albert Pujols started the St. Louis Cardinals off with his 42nd home run in the first inning, leading the Cards to an 8-7 win over the Chicago Cubs.

The Cardinals scored their eight runs unopposed through the first five innings.

The Cubs attempted to rally through the next two innings but were unable to pass their opponents.

The Cubs finished 35-46 at Wrigley Field this season.
