Big First Inning Dooms Indians In Fifth Straight Loss

Last updated on Thursday, August 26, 2010

(CLEVELAND, OH) - Kevin Kouzmanoff’s three-run double capped Oakland’s five-run top of the first as the Athletics cruised to a 6-1 win over the Cleveland Indians.

The A's jumped on Cleveland starter Mitch Talbot early with Jack Cust and Rajai Davis hitting RBI singles before Kouzmanoff's key double.

It was more than enough for Oakland starter Trevor Cahill, who allowed an unearned run on seven hits in his seven innings of work to improve to 14-5.

Asdrubal Cabrera drove home the lone run for the Indians with a fifth-inning single as Cleveland lost its fifth game in a row.

Talbot took the loss to drop to 8-11.
