NBA Free Agents Can Now Sign Contracts

Last updated on Thursday, July 8, 2010

(UNDATED) - The NBA’s free agent signing moratorium is over as players can officially begin signing contracts today.

Once LeBron James announces where he is headed tonight, the picture should become clearer for those teams who are not going after the top free agents.

The Indiana Pacers are among those teams as Larry Bird continues his search for a point guard.

The Pacers can sign a player for the mid-level exception, but are limited as they are close to the salary cap and will not go beyond the luxury tax threshold.

Last season's starter for Indiana, Earl Watson, is an unrestricted free agent.
