McCann Leads National League To First All Star Game Win In 13 Years

Last updated on Wednesday, July 14, 2010

(ANAHEIM, CA) - In Major League Baseball, the National League snapped a 13-year all-star game losing streak defeating the American League 3-1 Tuesday night in Anaheim at Angel Stadium.

Pitching from both teams was the theme early on in the game until the New York Yankees Robinson Cano hit a sacrifice fly to left field putting the AL on top.

Atlanta Braves Catcher Brian McCann hit a three-run double in the seventh inning to help lead the NL to it's first all-star victory since 1996.

McCann was named Most Valuable Player and the winner of the National League will have home-field advantage in the 2010 World Series.
