Reds Take Over First Place After Wild Game In St. Louis

(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Scott Rolen homered twice and drove in four runs as the Cincinnati Reds won a wild one in St. Louis, getting past the Cardinals 9-8.

Joey Votto homered in his first game back after missing six games due to a sore neck and Orlando Cabrera hit a two-run double.

The Cardinals scored four runs in the sixth capped by Brandon Ryan's two-run double as St. Louis took an 8-7 lead.

Cincinnati responded in the seventh with Jonny Gomes tying the game with an RBI single and Drew Stubbs giving the Reds the lead with a sacrifice fly.

Cincinnati takes a one-game lead over the second-place Cardinals in the NL Central.
