Reds Make Late Comeback But Drop Game In Extra Innings

(CINCINNATI, OH) - The Philadelphia Phillies scored three runs in the top of the tenth to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 9-6 in extra innings.

The Phillies jumped out to a 6-1 lead thanks to three-run homers from Brian Schneider and Wilson Valdez.

Ramon Hernandez got the Reds to within three with a two-run double in the sixth.

Joey Votto tied the game when he launched a three-run homer off Philadelphia closer Brad Lidge with two out in the bottom of the ninth.

The Phillies came back, scoring three times in the tenth off Reds reliever Arthur Rhodes with Raul Ibanez plating the eventual game-winner with an RBI double.
