Ellis Leads A's Past Cardinals With Late Sacrifice Fly

(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Mark Ellis hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning as the Oakland Athletics snapped a four-game losing streak by edging the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2.

Kevin Kouzmanoff gave Oakland the early lead with a solo homer off St. Louis starter Jeff Suppan.

Matt Holliday hit a pair of solo shots off A's starter Trevor Cahill.

Both teams had gone to their bullpens in the eighth when Conor Jackson and Kouzmanoff hit one-out singles off Blake Hawksworth with Jackson scoring the winning run on Ellis' sacrifice fly.
