(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - Purdue University has announced that university of Michigan assistant basketball coach Mike Jackson will join Matt Painter's staff with the Boilermakers.

Jackson played collegiately at the University of Detroit and has spent 14 years as a college assistant.

He coached at Detroit, Toledo and Dayton before joining Tommy Amaker's staff in Ann Arbor in 2005.

He was retained when Amaker was replaced by John Beilein in 2007.

Jackson replaces Rick Ray, who left Purdue to become an assistant at Clemson.
