(DETROIT, MI) - Armando Galarraga lost a perfect game on a controversial call with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Detroit Tigers blanked the Cleveland Indians 3-0.

Galarraga had retired the first 26 Cleveland hitters when Jason Donald hit a grounder to the right of first baseman Miguel Cabrera.

Cabrera threw the ball to Galarraga and umpire Jim Joyce ruled Donald safe.

Television replays showed that Donald should have been called out.

Galarraga retired Trevor Crowe to complete the one-hitter.

Cabrera hit a solo homer and Magglio Ordonez had an RBI single for the Tigers.

Fausto Carmona took the loss for the Indians, going eight innings and allowing two earned runs on nine hits.
