Rolen And Bruce Homer In First Inning To Push Reds Past Pirates

(CINCINNATI, OH) - The Cincinnati Reds maintained sole possession of first place in the NL Central with an 8-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Johnny Cueto won his fifth-straight decision, firing six shout out innings and striking out nine to improve to 5-1.

The Reds jumped on Pirates starter Charlie Morton early with Scott Rolen hitting a three-run homer and Jay Bruce adding a solo shot in the bottom of the first.

Drew Stubbs would add a two-run single in the second.

Morton would last just two innings in falling to 1-9 on the season.
