Peavy Wins First Game Of Season In White Sox 5-1 Victory

(CHICAGO, IL) - Jake Peavy picked up his first win of the season in the chicago White Sox 5-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Peavy allowed no runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out nine to improve to 1-2.

Alexei Ramirez hit a solo homer with Andruw Jones and Alex Rios driving in two runs apiece for Chicago.

Scott Podsednik homered off Scott Linebrink in the ninth to account for the Royals' lone run.

Gil Meche took the loss for Kansas City to fall to 0-3.
