Notre Dame And Miami Looking To Renew Rivalry

Last updated on Friday, May 14, 2010

(CHICAGO, IL) - One of the most bitter college football rivalries of the 1980’s could be coming back in 2012.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Notre Dame and Miami are having serious discussions about playing at Soldier Field in Chicago in two years.

A source tells the Tribune that a date for the 2012 game and possible future meetings are the sticking point at the moment, but that both sides are optimistic that a deal will be worked out.

The teams last played in 1990.

The game would fit Notre Dame's recent trend of scheduling one neutral site game per season.

The Irish take on Army this fall at Yankee Stadium in New York.
