Lilly's Strong Pitching And Colvin's Clutch Hit Help Cubs Edge Dodgers

(CHICAGO, IL) - Rookie Tyler Colvin hit an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth to give the Chicago Cubs a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Mike Fontenot led off the eighth with a triple and scored on Colvin's hit down the right field line.

Ted Lilly allowed three hits over seven shutout innings of work but did not figure in the decision.

Sean Marshall picked up the win in relief to improve to 5-1 with Carlos Marmol picking up his eleventh save.

Chicago native John Ely took the loss for LA.

Ely gave up a run on four hits over seven and-a-third innings to drop to 3-2.

The Cubs took two of three in the series.
