Indians Take Early Lead Only To Watch Wood Blow Save

Last updated on Thursday, May 20, 2010

(CLEVELAND, OH) - The Kansas City Royals erupted for five runs in the top of the ninth off Kerry Wood to record a come-from-behind 8-4 win over the Cleveland Indians.

Cleveland led 4-3 thanks in part to RBI singles from Trevor Crowe and Travis Hafner.

Mike Aviles led off the ninth with a triple off Wood.

David DeJesus followed with a single and Aviles scored on Billy Butler's RBI double.

Wood then struck out Jose Guillen before intentionally walking Alberto Callaspo and unintentionally walking Mitch Maier to drive in DeJesus with the go-ahead run.

Yuniesky Betancourt made the collapse complete by hammering a three-run double off Wood as Cleveland has lost three games in a row.
