Hunter's Clutch Hitting Pushes Angels Past White Sox

Last updated on Thursday, May 20, 2010

(CHICAGO, IL) - Torii Hunter hit a two-run homer and Joe Saunders pitched solid baseball into the eighth as the Los Angeles Angels halted a two-game skid with a 3-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

The Sox scored first when Carlos Quentin's sacrifice fly scored Paul Konerko in the bottom of the second.

The Angels took the lead for good in the fourth on Hunter's two-run bomb off Chicago starter John Danks.

Los Angeles got an insurance run in the eighth on a Jayson Nix throwing error to make it 3-1 Angels.

Konerko hit a solo homer off closer Brian Fuentes in the ninth, but Fuentes left the tying run at second when he struck out Alexei Ramirez to end the game.
