Gwinnett Comes From Behind To Beat Indianapolis

Last updated on Tuesday, May 25, 2010

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Mitch Jones hit a key three-run home run as the Gwinnett Braves defeated the Indianapolis Indians 6-5 at Victory Field.

Indianapolis built an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first before Jones' shot off Indians starter Michael Crotta in the third gave the Braves a lead they would not relinquish.

Gwinnett starter Tim Gustafson allowed three runs over five innings to pick up the win and helped his own cause by blasting a solo homer off reliever Justin Thomas in the sixth.

Pedro Alvarez drove in three for the Tribe as the Indians have dropped two in a row after winning Friday night's opener against the Braves.

The four-game series concludes tonight in Indianapolis.
